President: Lauren Appel
Hey BJUSY! Being your 2017-2018 president is such an honor as I have loved USY ever since I became a member in 8th grade, and I loved Kadima and Kadinkers even before that. To me, USY has always been a place I can be myself and express my Judaism fully. I have always been a shy person at school and with new people, but USY has changed me and now I literally can’t stop talking. Well, any of my family or close friends can tell you that I have always been a talker but now I am willing to talk with everyone about basically anything.
As most of you know, BJUSY is one of the only chapters with its own youth house. This opportunity to have our own house for programs really helps us create a special community and allows everyone to feel at home. One of my goals for this year is to continue to make the youth house a home for all of our members and even future members. Another goal I have is to completely revamp the general board program (you should apply!). I want to actually use the general board to improve our chapter.
I’ve told you my goals for the chapter, so here is just a little more about me. I am a Junior at Stevenson High School. I spend my summers in Conover Wisconsin at Camp Ramah; I have been a camper there for the last six years and I absolutely love it. Last year I was on the executive board as Communications Vice President, and it was a blast. I am a MAJOR Chicago Cubs fan, my first game was when I was six months old and I have been going ever since. I think that is all the fun facts about me, except for the widely known one that I am a triplet. Please feel free to email me about absolutely anything, and come talk to me on Tuesday nights because I literally love to talk!
